Ukrainian defense planners have developed a 10-level ladder of automation, with fully independent drone swarms as the ultimate goal. Currently, drones employing computer-vision for autonomous targeting are at level four on this scale, according to Max Makarchuk, head of AI at Brave1, Ukraine’s defense-tech coordination platform.
